STRUCTURED IMMERSION TRAINING (S.I.T. PROGRAM- 2 Weeks)

Our comprehensive, two-week Structured Immersion Training (S.I.T. Program) aims to teach your dog valuable skills, both on and off the leash. Our goal is to teach core commands, like sit, down, come, place, and heel, as well as proper leash etiquette. During this time we also prioritize training neutrality toward people, dogs, and other distractions.

  • Your dog will stay at our facility for two weeks to participate in our comprehensive, Structured Immersion Training (S.I.T.) Program.

    WHAT WE TEACH

Core commands like sit, down, come, place, and heel, as well as proper leash etiquette and calmness around people, dogs, vehicles, and various distractions.

    ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE

During their stay, you can expect your dog to attend various field trips to different parks, stores, the vet office, and other challenging environments to enhance and prove their training in real-life scenarios.

    LESSONS

To help you and your dog achieve long-term success, our two-week program also includes:

    • One 90-minute private lesson at our facility

    • One 90-minute in-home lesson

  • $1900 USD + NYS Sales Tax*

*We require a $500.00 USD deposit to reserve your booking. Deposits are credited toward the program fee upon drop-off for training and are non-refundable. Payments can be made in cash, by check, or via Venmo.

  • Yes!

The S.I.T program can be structured around working through aggression issues with people and other dogs. The only caveat to our program with aggressive dogs is that the dog must not be showing aggression to their owners or anyone that lives in the house. The reason for this is that it is very difficult to fix the relationship between the dog and the owner and more difficult to trust that the situation will not re-occur, even after training.

Due to the extra precautions and care that it takes to work with dogs that possess issues with aggression. The cost of the S.I.T program is $2,400 +NYS Sales Tax.

Please keep in mind that handling aggression, your dog will need to build trust with the trainer, which means that it may take additional time in training. Should your dog need additional time, there is no additional cost.

2-WEEK IN-HOME STRUCTURED IMMERSION TRAINING
(IN-HOME S.I.T. PROGRAM)

Even though our facility is well-maintained and industry-standard, we understand that not everyone is comfortable with leaving their dog in a kennel environment. Our two-week in-home S.I.T. Program follows the same training regime as our traditional program, but your dog will sleep in the comfort of their trainer’s home!

The consultation is a prerequisite to private lessons! During your consultation, we will work with you to design a program that is tailored to fit you and your dog. By the time your consultation is over, you will feel comfortable, confident, and well-prepared for upcoming lessons!

PUPPY HEAD-START PROGRAM

The Puppy Head-Start program is much like the S.I.T. Program but designed for puppies between 4-6 months. This is a 10-day program that focuses on building a solid training foundation, engagement, and a positive relationship with training. Your puppy will learn the foundations of sit, down, heel, going to their bed, responding to their name, and coming when called.

This program is meant to teach all the behaviors as games and then be able to progress further as your puppy matures.

  • Your dog will stay at our facility for ten days to participate in our puppy head-start program.

    WHAT WE TEACH

Core commands like sit, down, come, place, and heel, as well as proper leash etiquette and calmness around people, dogs, vehicles, and various distractions. Much of the program will be focused on building a strong relationship with the core behaviors and sets them up for success with follow on training as they mature.

    ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE

During their stay, you can expect your dog to attend various field trips to different parks, stores, the vet office, and other challenging environments to enhance and prove their training in real-life scenarios.

    LESSONS

    • One 90-minute private lesson at our facility

  • $1350 USD + NYS Sales Tax*

*We require a $500.00 USD deposit to reserve your booking. Deposits are credited toward the program fee upon drop-off for training and are non-refundable. Payments can be made in cash, by check, or via Venmo.

Benefits of Dog Training

Dog training offers a wealth of benefits that extend well beyond simply teaching your furry friend a few commands. Engaging in training not only enhances your dog's behavior but also significantly improves the overall quality of life for both pets and their owners. Invest time and effort into dog training for:

Improved Manners: A well-trained dog displays better manners, making outings and interactions more enjoyable.

Reduction of Behavioral Issues: Training can significantly reduce common behavioral problems such as excessive barking, chewing, digging, and jumping.

Easier Integration Into Family Life: A trained dog is often more comfortable around children, guests, and other pets, allowing for smoother family dynamics.

Stronger Bond With Your Pet: Through consistent training practices, you establish a deeper connection with your dog built on mutual respect and understanding.

Mental Stimulation: A mentally stimulated dog is less likely to develop anxiety and boredom-related issues, leading to a happier and more fulfilled life.

Common Training Challenges

While dog training can be rewarding, it’s not without its challenges. Common issues can include distractions in the environment, inconsistencies in commands, and varying attention spans depending on the dog’s age or breed. Some dogs may exhibit stubbornness when learning new commands, while others may struggle with socialization in crowded or unfamiliar environments. Recognizing these challenges early can help you adapt your training approach. Seeking professional guidance, like the services offered at PROFORMANCE K9, can provide you with tailored strategies and support to overcome these obstacles!
